THEME: RAW.UNCUT.EXPOSED

Our vision this year for Kollaboration 2010 is ‘RAW.UNCUT.EXPOSED.’ The word ‘Raw’ represents the reality of Kollaboration Toronto in making throughout the year. The word ‘Uncut’ represents that we will be showing behind scenes of our work throughout the year including, meetings, postering, workshops etc. Finally, the word ‘Exposed’ represents our plan to show the community how Kollaboration helps nurture not only the performers but also everyone else involved during the process.

About Kollaboration

Kollaboration seeks to elevate Korean American/Korean Canadian talent into the limelight of the music and entertainment industries, showcasing their talents and the community's potential to the world. It is in this endeavour that the barriers and biases will be broken down, and Korean Americans/Korean Canadians will be able to truly show the boundless talent and dynamics of a powerful community.

History of Kollaboration

Kollaboration is an annual Korean American and Korean Canadian Talent Show. It was created and founded by L.A’s PK (Paul Kim), under the umbrella of ProKreation Productions, a cutting edge production company promotes entertainment in the Asian Community. Breaking the stereotypes placed on Asian Americans in the entertainment industry, Kollaboration has allowed this movement to spread all across North America from L.A to Chicago, to New York and to Toronto and now it has extended to Atlanta and Washington D.C.

Kollaboration endeavors to bring about a paradigm shift of perceptions and to pave the way for future Korean Americans/Korean Canadians so that they may accomplish their goals and dreams. Kollaboration is the stepping stone.

DreamTree

DreamTree LogoDreamTree Productions, a non-profit, pioneering production company seeking to foster the Asian youth through entertainment. DreamTree was founded and created by Toronto’s Simon Park. Its first production was "God Spell" back in 2003, and attracted over 1500 people for only 2 shows. Itching for more inspiration, Simon Park brought the magic over to Toronto by starting Kollaboration Toronto’s first ever in 2006. Since then, DreamTree has given back to the Korean-Canadian community by producing three successful shows and hopefully to continue the magic into the fourth annual year.

Our Mission

  1. To foster healthy confidence, self-esteem and identity among Korean-Canadian youths through the performing arts.
  2. To nurture and promote the development of artistic abilities among young Korean-Canadians.
  3. To inspire and give back to the Korean-Canadian community and Canadian society by encouraging young people to share their talents with others.

Two auditions were held on January 9 and 16 and Toronto's finest talent came out to show us what Toronto Asians have to offer, there were singers, dancers, bands and more! After many hours of deliberation the FINALISTS are now picked! It was an extremely hard decision, as everyone who auditioned was AMAZING! Unfortunately we could only pick a few out of a pool of many outstanding performers.
